Job SummaryHouston Skilled Consultancy is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our construction team as Roofer Assistants. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who are eager to begin a career in the construction industry, particularly in roofing. The Roofer Assistant will support senior roofers in preparing, installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and high-quality workmanship. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist roofers with the installation and repair of various roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, and metal sheets. Prepare tools, equipment, and materials required for daily tasks. Safely handle ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment as directed. Remove old roofing materials and clean job sites to ensure a safe and organized work environment. Carry, lift, and position roofing materials as needed. Follow instructions from supervisors and support skilled workers during projects. Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations on construction sites. Perform general labor duties as required to assist the roofing team. Required Skills and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory). Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Willingness to learn and follow directions from experienced roofers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment (training provided). ExperienceNo prior roofing experience required. Previous work in construction, general labor, or a physically demanding role is an advantage. On-the-job training will be provided for all new hires. Working HoursFull-time role with standard hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
